A Wild Beast ; domesticated...
I've been using this car for an year now;
I have test driven the earlier version.
The problems were
1. Inadequate brakes
2. Engine lacked punch in low end
3. Harsh ride/non-communicative Steering
When I tried this one ; was just having it with a lot of critical burst.
I found Mahindra has listened well and done their home work better by improving in all the areas.
This was a love that came out of sheer sympathy of rating the earlier version really low ;-)
Positives
What I like;
1. Excellent low end punch
2. Good Steering Feel
3. Very good specs for the price like; Voice Assist,Follow-me home head lamp; remote locking;security system and a loads of it.
4. Good interior acoustics
5. True Macho Look
6. Comfortable Rear Seats
Negatives
1. An annoying vibration at 1700 RPM
2. Small glitches like rattling noises etc..
3. Reverse Gear takes a lot of effort some times
4. Interiors in the SLX model not upto the mark
5. Wobbly ride - can do more with better "Roll & Pitch" Control
6. Service at some dealers are not unto the mark.
Worth the price?
